How to play Caribbean Stud Poker Live?
This fun, fast-paced game provided by Evolution Gaming is massively scalable, and the optional 5+1 Bonus bet and Progressive Jackpot adds extra chances to win. Combined with the game’s quick-fire nature, this can make the playing session extremely rewarding for players.
In the main poker game, all players attempt to beat the dealer who must have an Ace and a King to qualify. Adding to the excitement of the main game are two side bets for multiple chances to win, even if players fold or are beaten by the dealer.
There’s the 5+1 Bonus bet with payouts of up to 1000 to 1, plus the Progressive Jackpot, which offers both a top-level Progressive Jackpot prize of increasing value for a Royal Flush and a range of lower fixed prizes for even more enjoyment for hands from a Straight Flush down to Three of a Kind.
What is Caribbean Stud Poker?
Caribbean Stud Poker is a casino table game that’s easy to play and offers fast-paced excitement for poker beginners, enthusiasts and advanced players alike.
However, unlike standard poker games, Caribbean Stud is played against the house rather than against other players. There is no bluffing and no need for a ‘poker face’. It’s a straight contest against the live online dealer.
Rules of Caribbean Stud Poker Live
The Ante bet and optional 5+1 Bonus bet and Progressive Jackpot side bet
To begin the game, the player must make an Ante bet. They may also make an optional 5+1 Bonus bet and/or an optional Progressive Jackpot side bet. These side bets are evaluated separately at the end of each game, so each bet provides an entirely separate opportunity to win.
The players and the dealer are then dealt five cards each. The players’ cards are dealt face up; dealer’s cards face down, except for the dealer’s last card which is face up.
Call or fold
The player then examines his or her cards and must decide to ‘Call’ or ‘Fold’. If the player chooses to ‘Call’, he must make a wager exactly twice his Ante bet. If the player folds, he forfeits his cards and Ante bet.
The dealer’s card revealed
The dealer then turns over his or her other four cards to reveal the complete hand of five cards.
The dealer must have an Ace and a King or higher to qualify. (In other words, the lowest qualifying hand for the dealer would be Ace, King, 4, 3, 2).
Possible outcomes of the main game
Bet | Covers |
---|---|
If the dealer qualifies and the player wins | The player will win even money on his Ante bet, and his Call bet will win according to the poker hand rankings in the payout table. |
If the dealer does not qualify and the player wins | The player will win even money on his Ante bet, and his Call bet will push. |
If the dealer and the player tie | Both Ante bet and Call bet will push. |
If the dealer qualifies and beats the player | Both Ante bet and Call bet will be lost. |
The 5+1 Bonus bet
If the player places the 5+1 Bonus side bet they win if their five cards plus the dealer’s first face-up card make a five-card poker hand of a Three of a Kind or better. To place this bet, the player must first place the Ante bet. The player’s decision to ‘Call’ or ‘Fold’ does not affect the 5+1 Bonus bet.
