THE PURPOSE OF BACCARAT

Baccarat is one of those games that looks very confusing. That is however until you understand the concept and the game becomes super easy to play. There are three different bets you can make in Baccarat. They are ‘The Bankers Bet’, ‘The Players Bet’, and ‘The Tie Bet’. The purpose of Baccarat is to bet on the winner of these three.

The question you might have now, is how to determine a winner? We will get back to that in the rules of baccarat. The true purpose is ultimately just to pick the winner, which creates an opportunity for a very relaxed game style. Because of this simplicity, the only action taken by the player is placing bets. The rest is taken care of by the dealer.

THE RULES OF BACCARAT

The first time you watch a game of Baccarat, you might get confused. It really isn’t difficult and when you have read through the rules of Baccarat, you will agree. To better create an understanding of the rules of baccarat, we have created a number-list in the same order as you will experience it when playing real money baccarat.

  1. The dealer deals out a total of four cards face up. Two for ‘The Player’ and two for ‘The Banker’. If either the dealer or the player is dealt a hand with the total value of 8 or 9, both player stands. The hand closest to 9 wins the game.
  2. If the player’s total is five or less, then the player will receive another card. Otherwise, the player will stand.
  3. If the player stands, then the banker hits on a total of 5 or less.

But what about ‘The Tie Bet’? If the player and the banker have the same card value, ‘The Tie Bet’ wins. Because of the unlikely event of this happening, the payout is higher on this bet. However, because of the high house edge connected to this bet, we do not recommend betting on this option.

Cards Carry a Point Value in Baccarat

Why does the player having K-9 (19) beat the banker with 2-6 (8) in Baccarat if the goal is to get as close to 9 as possible? That is because cards carry a point value in Baccarat. The baccarat-value of the hands above is in reality 9 for the player and 8 for the banker.

In the table underneath, we have collected the point value of the cards nice and easy for you to read and understand.

HOW TO PLACTICE BACCARAT

Now that you know the rules and card values in Baccarat, you might be tempted to practice your newly acquired knowledge. If you want to practice the game, without risking money you can play baccarat online for free here at AllGambling.

Take advantage of the free version here at AllGambling before you begin your real money baccarat adventure. If you master the game already from the beginning, we recommend implementing a betting strategy as early as possible.

Because Baccarat is a game with almost 50/50 chances of hitting the correct outcome, in combination with the possibility of 1/1 payouts, we recommend trying out the Martingale System. This betting system is designed to increase your chances of winnings in Baccarat.

If you feel that Martingale easily can become too expensive for you, there is a more conservative betting strategy available to you. Not as profitable as the Martingale but still av very viable option for normal players, the Fibonacci System also comes highly recommended from us.
